Pictures of the baby to be

This morning we had a sonogram and everything is coming along fine. The little one is about 11 cm long (or a little more than 4 in). Their sonogram machine does 3D imaging and the detail in the pictures is amazing. It looks like the baby has some hair and is smiling.


With the machine in regular mode we saw the spine and feet with lots of toes. I didn't get a chance to count 'em all as the baby was moving around too much.




I see four fingers and a thumb, arm bones, ribs and an itty bitty nose. The black area in the his gut is the bladder which we now know is working well. Hooray!

And yes, he is a boy!

Happy 2nd Birthday!

Jacob turned two a couple of weeks back, and we had a party at the house.  Unfortunately we didn't get to take many pictures.  Here's the best pic we took of Jacob that day (wearing his absolute favorite 'Bus' shirt, while cousin Spency is representing for the Giants).  That's followed by a rather interesting shot of Leo with his dad.  I guess it's true that the apple doesn't fall far from the tree.

Update: Thanks to Poppy we now have indisputable visual evidence that this was in fact Jacob's 2nd birthday. And for the record, he loved it when everyone sang happy birthday.

Hanging out with Poppa

When Poppa came to visit in April 2007, we all went to the Discovery Museum, a great place for the wee ones.   It's in Sausalito, right on the bay.  We lucked out with beautiful weather and got some nice shots with the Golden Gate Bridge as the backdrop.

Getting Started

Probably should have started doing this a couple of years ago.  Oh well, better late than never.   Here's a shot of Jacob from Feb '08.  He was big on pulling Alex's tail for quite a while.  Gotta give Alex plenty of credit though - he is remarkably tolerant of all the attention he gets from Jacob.  Not bad for a 15 year old cat.
